The Blue Hill Library is hosting a new exhibit in the Children’s Larchwood Room: Mushrooms, Axolotls, Dragons, Oh My! by Marie Mitchell. The exhibit features whimsical crocheted creatures and mushrooms.

Marie Mitchell has been crocheting for 52 years, having learned from her Nannie (grandmother) at the age of 10. What started as a hobby, became a passion and eventually a small business. Her crocheted  creations have been purchased all across the United States and other countries. Ever creative, Marie finds a way to make just about anything into a crochet counterpart. She also creates beautiful hats, blankets, and other more traditional items, but loves making dragons, axolotls, octopuses, and even a soccer ball for her grandson.

The exhibit is available for viewing during library hours through the end of March. Items are available for sale, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the library. For more information, call Claire at 374-5515.
