Online services to access from home

Digital Maine Library: Maine’s Digital Library provides every resident of Maine with free access to a collection of full text and abstracts from magazines, newspapers, and reference books that are credible, reputable resources. Formerly known as MARVEL!, this service also provides students, business people, public library patrons, and higher education students and educators the ability to search a number of resources at one time for needed information. Whether you need practice tests for your GRE, repair manuals for old car models, or historical newspaper articles, Digital Maine Library can help you out. Most services can be accessed from anywhere in the state, or from out of state if you set up an account using your library card number.

Digital Maine Repository: Selected resources from the library’s archival collection have been digitized and are available for free download from BHPL’s page on the Digital Maine Repository. The repository also holds many other documents from institutions all over the state. More items are being added all the time, and they are accessible from anywhere in the world!

Bangor Public Library: Did you know that any resident of Maine is able to get a Bangor Public Library card? With a BPL card, you can access even more digital resources, including electronic magazines and additional research databases. You can sign up for a BPL card here at the Blue Hill Library by filling out a simple form at the circulation desk.
